Creflo A. Dollar
Creflo Dollar recently made a comment concerning his “friend” Bishop Eddie Long of New Birth Church. Eddie Long has recently settled out of court from a lawsuit where he allegedly engaged in sexual liaisons with young teenage boys. Bishop Long apparently continues to defend himself on allegations of sexual misconduct. Creflo Dollar recently made a sermon concerning his friend stating that we all have “wrecks”.

Immorality Rebuked
1 It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has his father’s wife. 2 You have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst.
3 For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present. 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus, 5 I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Do you not judge those who are within the church? 13 But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES.

As much truth that Creflo stated he never mention the spirit that lies within his friend Eddie Long that needs to be cast out. Because yes, he was wrong and pains and lives have been altered but the spirit that lies within Long has to be changed and only changed thru Jesus Christ.
Amen. Was his comment made in the flesh or by the spirit of God?
What I believe Dr. Dollar is doing is not CONDONING but COVERING A MULTITUDE OF SIN, which is the hallmark of a perfected (matured) love walk. It is OUR job as the Body of Christ to earnestly pray for this situation and the others to come. Does it stink? Yeah mon! Has it had a major negative impact on the church? Absolutely. But, we cannot leave a wounded soldier on the battlefield. It is unfortunate that OUR beloved Bishop Long did not get the help he so desperately needed. There was an opportunity for him to acknowledge his struggle (confide in a trusted colleage) and sit himself down until he could get strengthened in his weak areas, and WE ALL have them. We can give criticism, but we are not to become critical. Let he that standeth take heed lest he fall. His mercy is from everlasting to everlasting!
It’s amazing to me how the church manipulates our sin and use the term “we all fall short…” but let a homeless man or prostitute come around them. Their noses go instantly up in the air. They are looked down upon. Yes we all fall short; however the journey way back is what is most important. Humility & lowly in spirit comes from a true repentant heart NOT arrogance & denial.

There are so many thoughts that ran through my mind as I listened to Dr. Dollar. Although I have much respect for him, I find it difficult to accept him telling those who chose to leave Bis Long’s church, not to do that and that he does not want them at his church. How can someone turn their back on the victims but not the criminal? The congregants are victims too. Maybe they need that time away for healing. It’s not all about Bishop Long here. Since the congregation is not accepted, I wonder if Dr. Dollar’s doors are open to the young men that were hurt by this? I am extremely concerned now. Where are we going as a people…people of God? So, in other words, all those boys and their families that have been molested over time by Catholic Priests should not seek another church home nor should the congregation seek another church home? Remember what’s good for the goose is also good for the gander. Eddie Long is no different. Is he holier? Oh, he is anointed, I forgot. He’s so anointed, he settled out of court instead of standing firm on being innocent until the very end. Somebody help me understand…
